October 1, Tragedy strikes a ShootArchery.com family Beth Hobbs of Cherokee Rod & Gun Club brings us the tragic news concerning one of our ShootArchery.com regulars. 11 year old cub shooter, Kristopher "Kris" Cooper lost his life in an automobile accident earlier this week. Beth Hobbs writes: Gary & April Mumpower are dealing with a horrible situation. On Tuesday evening, April's children (Gary's step-children) - young 11-year old son Kristopher "Kris" Cooper was killed and their 16-year old daughter Kayla placed in serious condition at Holston Valley from injuries sustained in an auto accident in the Indian Springs community not far from their home. Many of you would recognize Kris from his presence and participation at club meetings, archery tournaments, turkey shoots, CMP Youth and Boy Scout events. He was a rather quiet young fellow who was willing to try any new sport and frequently was seen assisting his mom and dad with club activities. According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Kayla somehow lost control of the car and the vehicle flipped several times. Speeding was not a factor in the accident. *****UPDATE****** As promised - here is an update concerning the Mumpower Family (funeral arrangements, etc.) The family is shaken, broken-hearted and suffering...please remember to keep them in your thoughts and prayers as the future days will continue to be hard on all of them. The funeral service for Kris will be held Friday night (Oct. 1) at 8:00 pm in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel. Grave side service will be Saturday at 11:00 am in the Glenwood Cemetery (mausoleum). In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Kristopher c/o James Moffitt, 2361 Highway 11W, Bristol, TN 37620. Kayla is improving and has been upgraded to good condition at Holston Valley Hospital. She has a broken pelvis and collar bone, so she was banged-up pretty hard but should recover from the injuries in due time. The family has recently moved - so for those interested in sending condolences, etc... the mailing address is: Gary and April Mumpower 113 South ridge Drive Blountville, TN 37617 the email address is: mumpowertoo@aol.com September 22, Nickols just edges out Bobbit at Sportsman Supply Jerry Nickols shot even, to edge out Danny Bobbit who posted a 199 on the 20 target course at what will be Sportsman Supply's last shoot of the year. September 8, 2004 Its been a long and successful season for the many Participating clubs that post their results on our web-site. There are just a few tournaments left on the schedule. We urge all ShootArchery.com regulars to get out there and shoot some of these tournaments and take advantage of some great practice opportunities right here before hunting season. ShootArchery.com would like to take a minute and thank all the participating clubs for all the hard work they do in putting on a 3D shoot. We appreciate all the clubs for sending us their results. If not for that, there would be no need for this web-site... click here to see what it would look like.... Here at ShootArchery.com, we feel it is important for Archers to have a place they can come and access their results... If you shoot a tournament, but never get to see the results, then you would be just as well off to have shot a practice round.
